About the Light Goose Conservation Order
Light goose conservation order established in 1999 to control overabundance of the snow goose population because of habitat destruction in the arctic tundra.the Light Goose Conservation Order was established to try and reduce and manage the snow goose population of lesser & greater snow geese including lesser snow geese, lesser blue geese, ross's geese, greater snow geese, & greater blue geese. The Light Goose Conservation Order has been authorized in the Atlantic Flyway, Central Flyway, Mississippi Flyway, & Pacific Flyway. During the Light Goose Conservation Order the use of electronic callers, un-plugged shotguns, & magazine extensions are permitted. as well as permiting the use of those items for hunting purposes there is also no daily limits, no possession limits, and hunting can start a half hour before sunrise and a half hour after sunset.
